Instructions for the AHG girls participating in the "13 Colonies Unite" skit:
· WEAR FULL UNIFORM. Weather is forecasted for 38-56 degrees between 9am to 3pm, so white long sleeve shirt under the white polo and sock tights for the Tenderhearts/Explorers may be necessary. For girls with skirts please make sure to have biker shorts underneath for modesty on stage.
· Arrive 30 minutes prior to skit time. 11:45 for 12:15pm skit, and 2:30 for 3pm skit.
· Bring tiara if you have one. If you don’t, Mrs. Berry will bring extras, so bring $1 to reimburse her.
· Mrs. Berry will bring the state abbreviation tags.
· Parents, please review the skit with your daughter, paying attention to: Identifying her cue as to when she needs to step forward to say her line and to what state(s) she is addressing, while speaking toward the audience. And expressing the need for her to speak clearly and loudly while facing the audience as it is not known if a microphone will be available.
Mrs. Berry would like to stress that the rehearsal went very well and that the girls did a great job. She wishes to thank the girls for memorizing their lines, being prepared and serving their community.
SCHEDULE OF AHG EVENTS
· At 11:15, Leanna Russell will be representing our troop in the Honor Guard at the dedication of the Liberty Tree, outside the Municipal Building.
· At 12:15 and 3:00, some of our girls will be performing a skit on how the 13 colonies united to form the United States of America.
· 2:30, there will be a History Bee for students in grades 5-8. Again, we are hoping you will want to participate!
· At about 3:30, for high school students, there will be a constitution game. If you have studied this time period in history and want to give it a go, they are asking you to participate!
· We are working with OH8118 to present two booths. One booth will be pioneer games. The other troop is taking the lead in this as their level award. The other booth is an American Heritage Girls information booth.
· Our troop is going to be passing out water to all of the presenters and demonstrators. If you have a “little red wagon” that we can use, that would be wonderful. Helpers are still needed for serving water beginning at 9am in 2 hour increments.
There will be a colonial costume contest, so we are encouraging the girls and families to dress up in period costume. For girls that want to dress in period costume and that are participating in volunteer opportunities and activities that require full uniform, you will need to bring both uniform and costume. If you are not dressed up in period costume and are serving on a shift or in an activity, please be in full uniform. This is an amazing opportunity to represent our organization, our troop, and most of all, our God.
Reminder: This is a family event and NOT an AHG drop off!
