It is just a few days until our much anticipated Sunwatch Village trip! I am really looking forward to it and I am sure the girls are as well.
Details are finally in!
Please plan to arrive at Sunwatch between 6:00-6:30 on Friday night and pick up by 11:30 on Saturday morning. Your girls will need to be fed BEFORE they arrive. We will have snacks, but not a meal.
If your girl would like, we are encouraging girls to bring a snack to share. We will have a fire in the huts, so it can be something prepared over the fire if they like. I need to know if they are in need of any equipment as I am not planning to bring anything for cooking.
The programming will start at 6:30 and continue until 9:30-10:00. We will have a snack time after this and just before bed. The girls will want to bring a water bottle that can be filled at a water fountain.
Sleep assignments:
T1/2 - Inside the museum
T3/E4 - Small hut outside
E5/6 - Large outside hut
Pi/Pa - Large outside hut
Pack List:
What to Bring to Camp
____ Poncho or raincoat
____ Soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary supplies
____ Sleeping bag, pillow, and sleeping pad (if you MUST use an air mattress, remember that the "beds" are sticks of wood lashed together. These can destroy an air mattress!) (a $2 foil blanket from Wal-Mart is highly encouraged)
___ Flashlight with extra batteries
____ WARM sleep clothes (My recommendation: Wear comfy clothes on Friday that can be slept in then change on Saturday morning. This will lighten loads significantly and be much simpler!)
____ 2 sets of underwear and socks
____ 1 set clothes...t-shirts work best with a sweatshirt over. Troop t-shirts HIGHLY encouraged! Try to pack at least one AHG spiritwear shirt, more if possible, we want people to know to which scouting group for girls we belong!
____ Camera and film (optional)
_____ Spending money ( there is a store to buy souvenirs)
_____Medications clearly marked in a ziplock plastic bag with dosage requirements, must be given to your leader at check in
_____If desired, snacks may be brought to be shared with the group.
Duffle bags can be tough to carry with sleeping bags, etc. Make sure you can carry the equipment you bring! It is a LONG walk from the parking lot, through the museum, then back to the huts. I am strongly encouraging extremely light packing of only bare necessities. PLEASE no suitcases!!!!
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Blessings,
Cynthia
