Update on Kids Against Hunger on January 22

Please note that there has been a time change for our service project.  We will need to arrive at the Kids Against Hunger Factory by 11:00 to pack at 12:00.
Also, we are now required to come up with some of the cost of the pack.  KAH is a not for profit organization that survives on the donations of those who pack the food.  If you are packing, we are asking you to set up a jar or cup or something to collect loose change in over the next four weeks.  You will be surprised at how much you can save.  Remember, each meal costs $0.25.  When we save our quarters over the next month, that is a lot of children who will go to bed with food in their bellies.
The focus of the packs continues to be Haiti.  Since the earthquake that devastated the country, they have been rocked by a hurricane, and suffered cholera outbreaks.  The infrastructure continues to be non-existent and children are starving to death at alarming rates.  This pack is an opportunity for our families to make a difference in this world of devastation and starvation.
Blessings,
Cynthia – Coordinator
